Office
Our office is located in South Ashland, close to the 14 exit. We do most of our prenatal visits at the office, and the initial 2 weeks of postpartum visits will be done in the comfort of your home to allow for bonding time with baby, and birth recovery.
The office building is shared with other health care practitioners, including a midwife-trained Naturopathic Doctor, primary and pediatric care providers, who we can refer to as needed.

OHP / health insurance coverage
We feel strongly that all women should have a choice in how, where, and with whom they give birth. Recognizing that midwifery care can be cost prohibitive for some, we have chosen to accept payment through Oregon Health Plan, for families who qualify.
For other health insurance plans, we have a third party insurance biller who can run a verification of benefits for you to see if your insurance covers home birth.
If you are trying to conceive and not pregnant yet, we highly recommend you consider establishing with a health share, such as Zion Health Share. They offer great coverage for midwifery care, home birth, and any associated costs (labs, ultrasounds, emergencies).
Reviews
Feel free to read the testimonials of moms who have birthed with us in the past. Each birth experience is very unique, as reflected in their reviews.
As midwives we recognize this, and provide individualized care. We do our best to adapt both to every woman’s personal needs and preferences, and to the partially unpredictable nature of birth itself.
Artemis Midwifery picnic
Every spring & fall we have a picnic outside with previous, current, and new clients. This is an opportunity for you to meet other like-minded moms, as we tend to see you mostly individually during our visits. We also like to stay in touch with our previous clients and see how they are doing!
We get to know each other well during the journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and it makes our final postpartum visit a bit less of a ‘ good-bye’ knowing that we may at least see you at these picnics twice a year :).
Breastfeeding support
Holly is an RN, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and Matrescence Educator and Guide. She’s passionate about getting new moms started with breastfeeding. She does 1:1 consultations for prenatal education, in-home postpartum visits, and lactation support for other stages like starting solids, returning to work, pumping, and weaning.
Your midwives will provide basic breastfeeding support and education, but sometimes additional specialized lactation support can be very helpful for first-time moms or moms troubleshooting breastfeeding issues during the first weeks postpartum. In this case, Holly can be available for additional lactation visits as needed.
Holly has a virtual support circle for moms in pregnancy through the first 5 years that’s focused on matrescence education. You can find Holly on Instagram at Instagram.com/milkandmatrescence or learn more here:
Birthing Community
It takes a village! Every second Thursday of the month from 8:30-10 am at Café Soleil in Talent, and every second Friday from 3-4:30 pm at the Lonely Pine in Grants Pass a group of doulas host a “ Birthing Community” gathering. This is a free community resource for preconception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum, and also a great opportunity to meet both care providers as well as other (expecting) moms.
We occasionally attend these community events as well (if we aren’t busy attending a birth ), so you may see us there!
“A woman in birth is at once her most powerful, and most vulnerable. But any woman who has birthed unhindered understands that we are stronger than we know.” - Marcie Macari
